not knowing.

sometimes, we talk to the mirror. sometimes, a blank wall. it's often a one-sided conversation - the emotional gyrations happen on this side, and we, the submissives, rarely see what happens over there. sometimes it's shared - in pieces of love and affection and the occasional tossed scrap of appreciation. but more often than not, it's a vacuum.

actors must sometimes feel like that - the stagelights glaring prevent you from seeing the audience, even as you're pouring your heart out for them.

i don't have expectations of equality, that this is a two way street.
